Can the water temp have a affect on how well a skimmer works?
Here is whats happened. We had the tank set at 22.5-23c for the seahorses, now the seahorses have gone, and we have fish the temp is now 25c. We did a 30% WC yesterday and the readings before the WC, Amm 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 10. The NSW tested all 0.
Today our skimmer cup is 1/2 full, in 24hrs..
I just think I an missing something.. For the cup to be 1/2 full, some thing is wrong.. I just dont know what..

Did you add the fish or just remove the seahorses?

If you added fish they could be producing more waste for the skimmer to skim out then the seahorses did.

I don't how much temp affects skimming.

Would not warmer water make whatever minute muck is in the water rot more quickly?

That's a good question ! I know salinity effects foam production. Not sure about temp.

I don't think it does other then the indirect way that Sabi pointed out after thinking about it a bit.
