Coralife causing Microbubbles in the tank

I have had a problem for a week now and have finally found the solution. The problem, extreme excessive of microbubbles in the tank that are overflowing from the output diffuser. I saw alot of extreme mods but I think I found the simplest mod. Buy a bag of floss filter from your local fish store. Remove the white filter on the bottom of the diffuser that came with the unit. Use it as a template and cut out three copies of it in the floss. Put all three in the bottom of the diffuser. This part will stop the flow through the bottom of the diffuser of microbubbles. Then cut out another piece, same depth(short side) as the previous cut out but make it long enough to wrap around the inside of the diffuser. This will stop the flow of microbubbles over the side of the diffuser. Now cut the output hose and leave just enough so that it is just sitting in the water by 2 ripples of the hose. See attachment pictures. Use the "prep" picture first.

I hope this gets aroung to all, becasue I was so disapointed when first starting out a saltwater tank. I even thought maybe this wasn't the right avenue for me. First challenge overcomed!

I don't know if this helps but,... I as well had the same problem, and I first of all sraightened the skimmer. I then as well noticed that the pump\powerhead was pumping to much water so I reduced the intake with a sponge. It now works well, hope this helps.
