Questions...

H'llo

Been checking prices on protein skimmers as i was led to believe thats among the most expensive equipment for SW tanks. The lowest i was coming up seemed to be R1000 and it started leaving a bad taste in my mouth. But i came up with a few between R600-R300.
What i'd like to know is would you be able to tell if these brands are good enough? I don't want to buy something that is cheap then find its no good.
Here are the links...

Thnx for any input.

Sabi - wish I could help but I've not used those skimmers nor have I heard anything positive or negative about them.

Sabi,
These protein skimmer are not my first choice. The first on is a Jebo. Some of their stuff is OK, some not so good. I have never seen this one run before. Sorry. The second one is a ViaAqua. If my memory is correct, It's kind of big. Check the footprint of this skimmer before you buy it (see if you have enough room). I've seen this one run before. It does pretty good. Look for Euro-Reef skimmers if they are available in your area.

Hi Sabi, I use a Jebo 180, its cheap, and works "OK", took a bit to adjust and tune, you do get what you pay for, have a look at this link,

Thanks Agsansoo. Hm, so Jebo is not your pick. Yeah the second one is big. I was just checking as they said up to 500l. Going to check out the Euro-reef skimmers, now.
