Pond!

Well i decided to make the pond a cichlid pond cause my rubys are going to need to go somewhere lol. For some reason the pH is 8.3 in the tub I found a pump, But i won't have a filter on it for a bit, But being the cichlids are not even a 1/2" they should be fine. I also plan to add bunches of plants and a few more texas holey rocks to the pond as well.

After the fry grow a bit in the pond, I will probably add another cichlid species from ether the lake victoria basin or malawi.

How long should i wait before i add the fry or at least a few fry to the pond?

I would wait until you have a filter and get the whole thing up and running.

Yeah i am working on making the filter now.

I will probably add some of the fry tomorrow if i can get the filter done and the water tests come out good.

Well the rock i was going to use is too small and I can't make it to lowes to get the bigger rock.

But even if i added all the fry at once with the filter, It being such a small bioload it could take forever for it to even start to cycle. I don't want to risk my fish, But it i think it's pretty safe for me to put them in the pond for a few days without the filter. I have some active biomedia on the intake of the pump, So that will help with the little ammonia they produce.

After i test the water though I will see if it's safe to put some in the pond.

Looks like i will be waiting. With the chloramine in the water i get a reading of 1.0 of ammonia. I have prime, But i don't know if it's safe or not?

A day after i get the filter going on it i will put a half dose of prime to be safe and add a few fry and See how it goes from there.

Well i got the filter going and I am in no hurry, So i will just wait until the ammonia in the water is gone, Then i will add all the fry.

I never put chiclid in my pond. It's interesting. How they look looking down from the surface of water. Koi looks prettier looking at the top than side of fish.
