Can anyone tell me a cheap pump for a pond that is under $50?

What flowrate are you looking for. Try looking at pentair quiet one pumps.

Or you could try a cooler pump - like for a swamp cooler on a house. My parents used a cooler pump in our original fish pond. It worked great for many many years (until it started to leak oil).
