How many GPH?

For a 100g pond with about 5 goldfish, How many GPH should the pump i get have?

I remember somewhere that i would need at least 250gph, But this one guy said i need a pump that puts out at least 500gph.

What is it?

For a 100g pond or aquarium, I wouldn't go less than 800GPH even better if you can get to 1000gph. (or 2 x 500gph filters)

A lot depends on how you are returning the water to the pond. If you are going to have a waterfall or stream type feature, you want the higher volume to get the water to the top of your waterfall/stream. If you are just going to be doing a small return at water level with no fanfare, then you could get by with a smaller filter/pump. Generally, the bigger the better. Some pumps you can get a flow adjustment knob on so you can adjust the flow rate.
