Do we have a basic guideline page for setting up a pond? I cant find it, if we do. I am thinking of fixing up my mothers pond in her backyard for her birthday. It is practically a muddy frog puddle now, I believe because they didnt use a liner of any sort. I would like to pull all the nasty algae out, drain it, redig it out (its pretty small, maybe 500 gallons), put in a liner, let it refill, and somehow (electricity from where?) put some sort of pump in there to keep it from being so stagnant... am I living in la la land or is this possible? Thanks for any help... oh and feel free to laugh at me if I'm being silly.

As far as I know, there is no such page.

You should be able to do it, though it will take time and work (duh). Once you've got it drained, if they didn't use a liner, you'll want to let the soil dry a bit before trying to dig, or it will keep collapsing on itself.

My step-dad used a water-proof outdoor extension cord. He just this last year buried it.
