We are thinking of making a indoor pond for our 5 goldfish and maybe a Koi or 2.

We where thinking of just getting a drop-in pond liner and I was going to make a canister filter out of a BIG food grade bucket.

I would have one pump in the pond then a spray bar in the bucket with some kind of cores media then some kind of Bio media then filter floss. Separating all of the media would be some of that craft plastic or egg crate. The filter would be put up higher then the pond so I would not need a pump in the filter to return the water to the pond.

What do you think? Would the filter work?

I saw a filter at www.drsfostersmith.com under the pond section that I posted on DIY section of doing your own canister filter a couple of weeks ago. You might check that out as well.
