I have a goldfish that is pregnant and is very fat, why hasnt she had her babies, she has been like this for 2 weeks now. Is there anything I can do to help her.

do you have a male in the pond with her? my pondgold fish layed there eggs 2 weeks ago now and have now hatched so i have 100s of them lol anyway the male will chase the female around the pond bashing into her to try to get her to release eggs she will not release them if the temp is not right tho.if she does release them i advise you to remove the eggs from the pond and put them into something else becuz they will eat the eggs and the fry if you dont.

ps she could also be egg bound not sure what to do in that situation

Goldfish are egg layers, not livebearers. They don't give birth to live young.

Also, how do you know that it's a female? And are you sure it's not Dropsy? Also, some fancy goldfish are bred to have very fat bodies. It could be normal. A picture would really help.

Thank you all for your reply, I think perhaps she is egg bound, would anyone know what to do, as we really dont want to loose her.

Like Maddielynn said, a picture would really help. I would do some research on goldfish breeding. Maybe Wikipedia has some info on it. Good luck with your goldfish!
