Emergency set up!

My QT/hospital tank is now in use.

I had to clean it really well, get the filter, cover, light, and bubble strip out of storage, and fill it with conditioned water. Thankfully, I have 2 filters with 4 forever cartridges on my 75 gal. goldfish tank. I just took the filter sponge out of the cartridge and threw it into the QT. I also took 2 pieces of driftwood out of the 75 gal. and put them in the QT. All of this was done in about a half hour. I even impressed myself with that time.

The reason for all of this?

The 2 pieces of driftwood were covered in eggs. When I saw who the parents were (they were still dancing) I decided I wanted to try to save these guys. The parents are the two biggest and most beautiful in the tank. My longtime alpha female and my large male, who was never really taking on the role of alpha male. The alpha male had to be euthanized a few months ago, which really affected everybody in the tank for a very long time. I was hoping this one would step up to replace him. I was getting nervous because it has been so long, and he never did.
Finally!!!

I had to save these guys. I am such a softy.

They hatched today!

I counted about 20, but there must be closer to 30 or 40. They don't seem to be hungry yet. They are just hanging on the side of the tank and on the driftwood. It has been so long since I have done this, I forgot how weird they look.

Not yet.
The only pictures I have of my 75 gal tank is on film. I would have to either scan them, or take new pictures. I would like to take new digital pics, but I can't find my camera. *pout*
