My alpha female goldfish has her old-age bumps. She is still active and healthy, but her little bumps are there. I have had her, and her brother and sister, for 12 years. It is hard to believe that it has been this long. I can't believe that at, at one time, six of them fit into a small jelly jar to bring them home and put into my tank.

Kind of like moles on an old dog. Certain species of fish, when they get older, are susceptible to them. I looked it up, and it isn't uncommon for goldfish to get them if they get old enough. My sweet little old lady... well, she isn't so little, and still pretty spunky instead of sweet.
