I don't think it would make sense for fish to fart because hot air rises right??
so wouldn't their extra gas just make them float or do their bowels really have the strength to push the air down and out??

If you have read the whole thread you have learned that Corys dash to teh surface gulp air and the 02 travels down the gut and the excess does indeed exit the anus giving the appearance of passing gas. No pushing needed

When corys dart to the surface they are taking a gulp of air which goes down their intestines, o2 is being absorbed on the way. excess o2 is expelled through the anus. so yes you can see the bubbles
