No, but the the sand tiger shark does gulp air into its stomach at the surface, then discharges it out the back door to attain the desired depth. Surely this qualifies as flatulence in the common sense of the term.

No, I don't think so. Farting is caused by gasses being produced in the digestive tract. I think this qualifies more as butt burping ahahahahaha

OH MY GOD THEY DO FART!!! I just get home from work ..i get a little fish food for my buddies and my big female..yes female peppered cory swims over and lo and behold i see a huge bubble come out of her rear end!! I was shocked!!!maybe not the way a human farts but indeed if it looks like fart then it probably is a fart..I really thought that this was a b/s poll but wow I never would have thought it was true..I still don't believe it(shaking head)but I did read in an earlier post that corys will do this but i didn't know I would bare witness to it...

Ok my RL has been farting in the tank since I put it in yesterday.
Had bubbles rising from the rock , and IT SMELLS BAD!

PS IF YOU FEED YOUR FISH MEXICAN YOU BETTER HAVE A GOOD FILTER!

And yes fish fart, I have seen the bubbles come out...

Fish can't fart, their digestive system doesn't produce any gases at all.

There are fish that do fart, actually. People who own cories could especially tell you that they will be swimming along and bubbles come from their anal region.

Corys will dart to the surface take a gulp of air and process it down their digestive tract where the portion that is needed will be absorbed into the blood stream. The excess oxygen is passed from the body through the anus. 'tis a fact my friend
But you are also correct that their digestive tract doesn't make the gas their passing.
