I'm starting on my ten gallon this weekend and I know I can't put fish in it right away and need to wait till it cycles but I wanted to try to figure out what to do with it before I do it

I've always wanted to try out a shrimp tank, seems like it'd be a lot of fun.
Personally, I'd use CRS but they are so expensive, so any shrimp would work.

I'm a huge fan of peacock gudgeons now that I have 2 of them. You can keep them with shrimp. Cherry shrimp and Amano shrimp are easy to keep, inexpensive, and easy to find. I love the idea for CRS also, but man... what a price tag for shrimp!

If you want some cherry shrimp, let me know. My husband and I have a tank full of them. They breed like crazy and we sell them pretty regularly.

a cherry shrimp colony would be amazing!

i personally wouldn't recommend trying a sorority in anything smaller than around a 20 gallon tank, a 10 gallon doesn't really give enough room for hiding and establishing territories to prevent aggression.

IMO a trio of really c olorful guppies like moscows, snakeskins, etc crystal red shrimp, and plants would be beautiful.
