I've always flushed my fish. I would rather bury them, but I'm afraid our dogs would dig them up and bring them in the house or something. I won't be able to flush some of my fish if they die, though. The angels are too big for me to be comfortable about flushing, and I would never flush my bettas.

flush but some are too big and because i live in an apartment those would get the dust pan. If i could they would each get a funeral pyre (AKA cremation)

I bury all my fish in my landscaping close to my butterfly bushes in plastic bags. I could never flush a fish. This way I have a place to visit anytime and I even plant some flowers by there graves.

Any of ours get buried. They are way to big to flush. Same thing with any of our pets. I have zebra finches and button quail and occasionally, they die too. I just bury them in the bottom of the bird cage. The fish get buried in the iris bed or in one of the flower beds.

Alpha died on April Fools Day, and of course I couldn't flush him. I made him a little coffin out of cardboard and red paint, and I found a spot by the side of the house that is a perfect gravesite. It is off-limits to the dogs, and easily accessible for us. It's a little clearing in some tall flowering plants, so there are flower petals on the ground and a nice clear place for the grave. We buried Alpha there today, I will make him a tombstone soon. For now, I put a handful of his gravel on the ground to mark the place we buried him. |

Flush. This morning I had to flush six dead fish due to a cleaning catastrophe. I flush them partly bc I live on rented property, partly bc said rented property has a half inch of soil (usually frozen solid) over rocks, and partly bc I really just can't look at them when they're dead. It's hard enough to have to net the corpse out of the tank.

I live in an apartment so unfortunately I have to flush. Its so sad I always tease my boyfriend that he should be playing his bagpipes. I don't think our betta would ever be flushed, though, we're just far too attached to the little squirt.

i guess it depends how attached i am. if it were one of my big cichlids id have a full blown funeral. but the goldfish or guppies get flushed.

I flush they as it is as close to a sea burial and seems more respectful as I always feel a small sense of failure if i loose a fish, could i have done more to have prevented the lose
