My aquarium has a built in over flow system. So I have to vote for the Wet/Dry or Trickle down system with a 950 mag drive. Too, I have Diatom XL I use every 10 days. Talk about crystal clear at all times!

for me it depends on the tank.

In my small tanks I like the Fluval U series of submersible filters but for the bigger tanks I like cannisters so then Eheim or Tetra depending on price and availability.

cheapo aquatechs that come with my tank kits! Though I prefer a non cartridge type of filter because they are easier to clean.

I'm cheap so I mostly use sponge filters I do have a little hob I've had on various tanks for years and it's still chuggin...I think it's a Tetra (normally a brand I avoid though).

I had to vote other because although I use a Marineland filter it is a canister filter and not the penguin filter.

I've only used AquaClear and AquaTech. I like the AquaClear a lot better though. I like being able to choose the filter media that I use and not having to buy cartridges.

I chose other because I use SOF brand (homemade from a 5 gallon bucket)

I voted Aquaclear. I have them on all of my tanks and they work very well. They are very quiet and have room for lots of bio-media inside

Hard desicion, i love the Aquaclear because of it's convinience and efficiency. but the cheap corner filters have proven loyal as well.

For a hang on back (HOB) I like the Aqua Clears.

Overall - Eheim (Classic 2213 canister)
HOBs - AquaClear (when I actually find one that doesn't buzz )
Tiny tanks - corner box filter

Basically anything that holds a LOT of media, don't like cartridges so much any more. To me that's a lot more important than flow rate - trap debris and give lots and lots of surface area for bio-action.

I'm right with you "prairielilly" Classic 2215 canister or for "hob" penguin bio wheel
