I like rap, it has a good flow. It's not my favorite for sure but it is fun to clean house too..lol..50 Cent has some good songs but like I said not my favorite.
I don't think you can edit and quote at the same time, so that's fine. It was just odd that it was three times in the same day and I've never seen you back-to-back post before this.
Amanda: I'm not saying you should like or listen to it, I'm just saying there is melody and harmony in quite a bit of rap.
Melody is: "the succession of single tones in musical compositions, as distinguished from harmony and rhythm."
and Harmony is: "the simultaneous combination of tones, esp. when blended into chords pleasing to the ear; chordal structure, as distinguished from melody and rhythm."
Since much of rap music involves tones that are more than simple beats, and utilizes overlapping tones that are more than simple beats, it has melody and harmony. Maybe not to everyone's tastes, and definitely not always in the vocals (but sometimes even then), but it's there.
You know what's good to clean to?
The Beatles.
Just clean & sing as loud as you can.
HECK YEAH! That's what I'm talking about!!!!

You know, I always hear you talking about them, and I've heard of them before, but I've never actually heard them... perhaps I give them a listen, eh?
YES!
I know you've heard them though (everyone has heard A Whiter Shade of Pale-id link the youtube but it keeps opening up a video window instead of just the link). Unfortunatly most arern't familiar with their other works and I'd say you can't go wrong with any of the first 8 albums. Each one is quite different and some stronger than others in some aspects.

I totally get what you mean about certain sounds you don't like, though (twangy country makes me want to de-drum my ears with an oyster fork).
You're making yourself sound like an old man, you know. "back in the day, people didn't like those fancy 'lectric gee-tars"
I HATE COUNTRY!!! Except like very very early country, which is the only stuff I'd really call country... newer 'country' is more like pop/rock with twangy vocals....
Control your drooling!! lol.
I listen to rock, alternative, metal, classical, jazz, new age.
I'm not a fan of country, pop, or rap.
There are very FEW exceptions of these genres that I like.
I suggest following that link for some organ loving, especially after the 5:00 mark (watch the "high quality version"...don't know how to link that directly). Hammond organs were the defining sound of 70s rock for me.
Well, what bands are you talking about?
Classic metal? New metal? Heavy metal? Hair metal? lol.
There's so many kinds.
I listen to System of a Down, Disturbed, Korn, but I'll also throw in some Rammstein, Metallica, Black Sabbath for good measure.
probably my first or second favorite metal band, The Lord Weird Slough Feg
But aside from traditional heavy metal (above), I'm a big fan of progressive, death, black (1st and 2nd wave only), avant garde, fusion, technical, thrash (actually only about 4 thrash bands) etc...I'm a stickler for specifying subgenres.

Yeah, you can sort of. If you've already posted, quote the post you want to quote....highlight it, click cut.
Click out of that window.....go back to your post, click edit and paste the quote in your post.
