Do you play favorites?

Come on, admit it, don't be shy now. Everyone has that one tank that they're more attached to then the rest. What's you'rs and why? Or if you love them all equally why?

Oh yes, the 75g wins hands down although I like the others too. The 75g has Kuhli Loaches and Corys on the bottom and when ever I go near the tank they think it's feeding time and start digging in the sand and racing all over the bottom looking for food.
In the top I have Threadfin Rainbows and when the bottom feeders start looking for food they think they have missed a crumb and then THEY start swimming all over. It's really a fun and funny tank to watch.

I really only have my pond, and that can't be moved very easily. I do, however, have a favorite goldfish. My big black male. He looks like he is made of black velvet. I love him. I love my other fish too, and I would be hard pressed if I couldn't take all of them, but he is my favorite. My second favorites is a tie between my plecos, my CAE's, and my pirahna fish (actually mosquito fish). Then in the second second place is all my other goldies. But yes, my favorite is my black velvety goldfish.

I think there should be a section for MTS but only one tank...
I keep trying to get my dad to get me even just a 10g.
If I could, my room would be built out of 'em. I'd call that MTS...

I would take my 10 gallon planted at this point in time. Thats my pride and joy as of now... just wait till I get my new tank set up. Then I'll take that one.

I'd call that MTS naahhh, I would call that structural engineering. good luck with that.

If I had to choose 1 favorite,it would definitely be my 175 gallon with my Dario Darios,2 common plecos and 3 Albino clawed frogs. Definitely wouldn't be the same without them. Yeah, the rest of the fish hate them.

My 55 gal. Part of it is I only have tetras in my 29 right now, and they're not very personable. The other part is that my powder blue dwarf gourami is in there, and he is and always will be my favorite (and he knows it too!). In fact, all my gouramis are in there, and they're obviously my favorite lol.

Aye, yes they do. I think that accounts for all the bad behavior from my boys and girls. Except Winter, cause he knows he's his momma's favorite betta. I play favorites pretty bad... shh don't tell.

I only have one tank at the moment with anything in it, so not tank-wise. However, when I was a little kid, I had a favorite goldfish- we had gotten a pair of goldfish from my sister's friend, who'd had her tank break. At the time, we didn't know that two goldfish prefer larger than a 20 gal. They lived quite a while, though- between 7 and 8 years. I loved my orange one, named Freddy- he recognized me and always followed me. I would play with him, getting my finger wet so the food would stick and letting him nibble the food off.

More recently was my favorite zebra danio- he was oldest surviving member of a school of five. By the time the others had died, he had grown much larger than the LFS sold, so we didn't really feel comfortable adding more zebras for fear of them getting dominated to death. He was definitely the alpha-fish of the tank- he patrolled the tank and was always the first to eat. He was such a little piggy. I was so sad when he got dropsy (after 3 or so years of life) and went the way of the dodo.

It would be a huge loose-loose situation for me to pick one tank above the others. Each tank I have and the fishies in them have a particular history with me. I do experience, however different emotional meanings with every one of them.

My Betta Sorority, definitely a must have right now, in the process of getting to know each lady and upgrading their home tank.

My paired-off Oscars, Severums, Convicts and a small crew of Kenyi -I'm moving the Severums to a tank for themselves, as well as the Kenyi.

My paired-off Angelfish, who allow the Panda Corydoras, Kuhli Loaches and Ghost Shrimps stay in their tank (had to remove the Harlequin Rasboras).

My other pair of Angelfish -awaiting a new owner, sharing a tank -at this moment dismantled due to upgrading- with the relocated Harlequin Rasboras and a lone juvenile Rainbow Shark; and my growing school of Silver Dollars that are reaching 2" and once at 3 will go to the Oscars tank and stay there if they ever learn to respect plants -a long shot, otherwise... another tank.

My male Betta Eddy, a gorgeous hyperactive but peaceful emerald green Pla Kat and his schooling friends Cherry Barbs, a rescued Nerite Snail and two Ghost Shrimps.

My other two male Pla Kats, still juveniles, in their tiny indiviudual 2.5 and 3.5gal tanks, one a gentleman the other a bull.

And my latest friends, Mr Krimson and The Boxer, a Crown Tail and a Veil Tail, housed in a suddenly set 5.5gal tank with a divider; one laid-back the other a fighter.

Not to mention my Rainbowfishes -2 survivors adults Red Salmon/Irian Red, 12 juveniles Boesemani, and 14 Turquoise, as well as their company of Zebra Danios, Mickey Mouse Platy, Bronze Corydoras... and the sole adult survivor of six Apple Snails, he is a big fellow!

I just can't choose one over another. Some have a very individual relationship with me (e.g. Oscars, Severums, Angelfish, Bettas) others a group-interaction (e.g. naive Rainbowfish, always shy Silver Dollars or Neons, curious Pandas or Bronze corydoras, fear-no-one Kenyi and Convicts, see-me-if-you-can Kuhli Loaches), as well as different hours through the day for paying attention to anyone including me at feeding time.

And I didn't mention a word of my relationship with my beloved plants! LOL.

Well the quarantine tanks I don't care about...they are just there to make my "real" tanks better, lol.

But as for my three real tanks...they are very different so I can't really pick. Which one I like best depends on the day.

My planted community SA 29gal is just a ton of fun, and community tanks with a lots of social interaction (particular between the rams) are hard to beat.

But my Bettas are little charmers, and they live next to my desk so we spend a lot of time together, so to speak.

Then there's the 90, which is still in progress, but to which I am attached already as every part of it is very "me"...my blood, sweat, and tears have gone into that tank (literally...dratted glass sump baffles are surprisingly sharp-edged...), and the baby Green Terror destined for it lives under the Bettas on my dual stand at the moment, and is very personable. If I decide to get new pictus for it, they are fun to watch as well...

So yeah, I can't decide, lol.

Very tough decision. I have my favorites, but i still love them all. If a fire broke out it'd be very hard to choose. With over $3,500 invested in livestock alone (Discus and SW coral), you can't make one of those decisions easy.

My angel tank is the most neglected, though somehow the most productive as they lay eggs consistently....

I have 4 tanks. My quarantine I care about for some reason though. Maybe because I had my first fish in it, who knows? Then I have my 10 gal with my gerbils, another 1 gal with a betta ( NOT abandoned) and my beloved 20 gal community tank. Everybody's right. It's a tough choice.
