Which fish did you get the best deal on?

What fish that you bought do you think you got the best deal on? Any fish you bought that probably should have cost alot more?

For me, it'd probably be Emerson my betta. He is still my most expensive fish at $13, but he probably could have sold for more. But he is from Petco after all He's a beauty of a betta.

I got my 9 to 10 inch pleco and a crappy looking 5 gallon tank with a great filter for free. Poor guy got left behind when the people we bought our house from went into foreclosure.
Thank goodness my little "wormy" (aka jeff the worm) is thriving and happy now that I'm taking care of him

I have bought probably 100, 1$ a bag of fish at auctions.
I have picked up quite a few rare but not commonly known fish that way.

one time I bought 5 neon tetras and 3 glowlight danios at the same time. the recipet read 5 neon tetras and 3 neon tetras. I thought that the price sounded funny when the guy was checking us out. Of course I wouldn't have been able to return the fish if one died but they didn't so it didn't matter.

One of the best deals I have gotten on fish would be, the betta from a breeder I am getting in a few days. $50 for 4 HM betta/2 pair. These guys usually sell on Aquabid for $20-$30 each.
The only free fish you'll find around here are convicts and kribs. I've kept them both already.
