| I just love kuhli loaches, and other loaches for that matter. So they are never ugly, but the bettas can be, but most are stunning fish.

| Your Betta boy is gorgeous!  I love the copper colored fins. 
On the other hand... ahem... I HATE snakes or worms more so.. hehehe.... and the kuhli loaches remind me of them and so I would never have a squirmy snake in me tank! lol... but thats just ME.  
Just remember, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and if you love them.. and think they are pretty.. well thats all that matters isnt it?  | |

| Yes they are in the same tank. My mom will not let me keep just a betta in the 5 gallon so someone suggested coolie loaches. When I went to go get the betta yesterday they had some coolie loaches.

| Nope! Bettas and Kuhlis are both great fish. Although Kuhlis do better in groups of three or more I realize there isn't room in the 5g.

| I got a kuhli as a freebie from my aquabid guy. Then I had to buy him 3 friends. They are cute in a slithery creepy kind of way, but it is a hoot watching them and the longfin albino plecs all trying to eat the same thing. So they are entertaining as well...and I hate snakey things...must be that they go into an aquarium = MTS = LOVE!! 
Now cute is yo yo loaches!!!! again..LOVE!

Believe me, I am going by the seat of my pants feeding them, cuz I am growing out guppy fry in the same tank, there are 2 apple snails; also growing out 4 long fin albino plecs;young kuhlis and 2 otos. ( No chastizing anyone - they are fine)
Gups get Pro Gro fry pells...so when they are busy, I drop in Omega one shrimp pells, usually 2 and perhaps an Omega One veg round. Cuke or zuch every other day...(.I don't know who eats them..otos and plecs for sure, gups pick at them.) Once a week perhaps frozen (thawed out) mysis shrimp...and peas once a week, who gets them, I have no clue.
Then everyone comes out to eat...and the gups think they should have the bottom food as well............I am hoping the apple snails are eating up the leftovers and that everyone is getting enough. (It is time for the gups to get moving out, so it should be easier). It is a freaking circus. The kuhlis are crawling over the snails and the plecs and each other to eat. So fun to watch.
At lights out, I will drop in another veg round and shrimp pellet.
I spend more time watching this tank than any other, so much activity.
My malaysian trumpet/pond snail issue is gone in this tank, so something must be going right. And my gup fry turned out to be over 50% boys!!! How cool is that?? ( Well maybe not cuz I said I wanted to keep the boys- last time I only got one).

| OMG _ CUTE ALERT!!!
The tank with the kuhlis is beside my computer desk. I turned off the overhead light, the tank light is out, and I looked in. Those four kuhlis are playing like crazy in the bubbles from the bubble wand I have on the end of the tank. It has really fine bubbles, they are having such fun.
So, now they are cute in a cute happy way!!
