| I like getting baby fish or young fish, so I can grow them out. With lots of quality food and water changes, fish grow fast. |

| My first fishes were swordtails for my 6th birthday. I had originally wanted puffers but they were out when we finally went back to get them lol. I love swordtails to this day though!!!!!! (i'm 26 now) |

| When I first started out I kept all different kinds of danios (still love them). I would pick out the smallest so I could watch them grow up.

| i just have a question, when you say young how young do you mean and when you say old how old do you mean and to me it also depends on what sort of fish you have because for example a oldish mollie would be easier to care for then a baby. I sold my mollies for cichlids but still have like 25 baby mollies. |

| we started with tiger barbs and pristellas. but later found out that we needed to return the pristellas and just got more tiger barbs. our next tank is going to be a community tank. don't get me wrong, our tiger barbs are awesome, just a bit limiting. |

| I think Mollies are a good starter fish to learn fishkeeping. They're pretty hardy. |

| i think when people mean young is because they're small compared to the rest of the fish available, same with older ones. i personally think bettas and guppies are good for starters. Whenever i purchase a fish i make sure they look healthy most of all, then i look at colors, size, activity etc. |

| Not goldfish! Sounds silly I know, and yes they are extremely hardy. Unfortunately they are messy and are often carry disease due to their conditions are the stores. I'd say guppies. |

| I'd say bettas are the perfect beginner fish. They are very forgiving, and so beautiful. |

| I would definitely go for young fishes Mainly because if you get old fishes, who knows when they will die. Old fishes don't live as long as young fishes, their life span is shorter than young fishes so it's obvious
young fishes are very spirited and boastful, filled with LOTS of energy along with good agility (probably the same as energy) |
