If gallons were $ we'd be rich?
Hi
how much have you spent on your fish in total including tank(s), fish and everything else in $ or £.
I will start the ball rolling with my spend $1800 or £1000 to date - ouch
Not a competition ;-) just interesting to see how much we outlay on our beloved fish hobby.

luckily my 45 gallon tank was a gift, but i had to replace the gravel, buy a filter, buy a heater, buy decorations, so in the end my "free tank" hit me for about $160

Over the past 2.5 yrs. We've spent thousands, but we've gotten deals on just about everything we've bought. Our 120g with wooden stand cost second hand, $300. Nearly 2 yrs up now , plus it was delivered to our door.
I think we've sold as many tanks as we've bought the past while. Trying to figure out which sizes we like and what not.

I think I've spent around $600, but I'm not sure. But that's just in 4 months of fishkeeping!

Wow this would be impossible to figure out. Actually I'm afraid to figure it out.
Its thousands over the course of 7 years.
Rebuilt the pond dug it deeper and wider, new liner, new larger pump, filters, waterfall, rocks, koi. . .Underwater lighting for the pond, heaters to keep the ice open. . .Plants and lately tons of food. They're eating like crazy.
55 gal. tank materials for stand home built, decor, plants. . . discus. . .and many others. . .medications. High quality frozen food. Python.
10 gal. . .and all the stuff that goes with it.
10 gal. . .same.
You have to remember all the heaters that broke and filters that stopped running and new impellers replaced.
Really it goes on and on. So please don't make me add it up. Its all for fun and relaxation.: ). One must never, never put a $ sign on the things one loves to do.

Since I got my first large tank(only 36 gallons, but it's large for my house), I know I have spent something like $5000-10,000 on all my tanks, and this includes gas to go to pick up the things too. But it's a hobby, you are meant to spend money on everything.

I've been keeping fish for over 43 years now (got my first tank for my fifth birthday), so I know I've spent well over $10,000 in that time.

I goofed on the poll. I put it at $5000 but I forgot to add my koi pond which was $5000 by itself. Good thing my wife digs this hobby too.
