| What do you keep your fish for? Was just wondering wether people keep fish to show and enjoy, or to breed, or both
I have some to show and some that breed .
Also, if you do breed, feel free to tell everyone what fish you breed |

| I chose for show, but really I do it because it provides me hours of relaxation. I suffer from sress and fishkeeping keeps me relaxed and happy. I also get to enjoy the beauty of the fish but its really the maintenance that keeps the stress down. |

| I do not breed or show my fish... I just love them and enjoy the hobby of fishkeeping. It is very relaxing for me as well and it was for this purpose that I got back into fishkeeping, but now... its because I really love the personalities of these little guys and I enjoy having the responsibility of taking care of them and providing as best a home as I can. |

| My own personal tanks are my pets, except the 15g has my breeding pair of bristlenose plecos Our 120g is our show tank...we are switching it up to either planted or SW...we can get all we need for it for $500.
We have 75gs and all the fish, Malawi cichlids we have breeding at friends houses are for our business when it opens. A fish breeder/store. |

| We primarily breed fish in our 160ish tanks, but we also have a few that we do not try to breed and are there as pets. |

| I guess I do as David C, fishkeeping is my healthy stress release valve -I enjoy the maintenace very much. I can tell you that my whole family is actively enjoying the benefits of fishkeeping, my tanks are not really mine, they are part of the family.
In order to stay focused on the poll, I do both, for show and for breeding. I'm not into breeding fish for business since I make a very good living out of my practice, but I intend to breed vulnerable species, such as Rainbowfish, or some that are common but rarely available in my city, as Silver Dollars and Green Severums, so other responsible fishkeepers can enjoy from them.

| We just mainly keep ours to enjoy, but I do enjoy breeding some of them as well. Don't really show them, I don't like to stress them with the travelling and all. |

| Every one of my fish are just beloved pets, and I am more than content with that.
Fish keeping has been the best thing to happen to me mentally and emotionally in the last many years, it helps me find my center and shows me that there is so much peaceful beauty in the world; it's so wonderful to feel such a powerful connection to the graceful, intelligent creatures whose lives I'm lucky enough to be a part of. |

| I keep my to enjoy. They are like the family pet. Everyone always wants to know whats in the tank. I love them and I don't do it for show. Although when my famliy looks at them it kinda is like a show. Well I can look at them for a years and still be happy at what i'm looking at. Umm I don't try breeding them because in SW you can't tell the diffence in female and male. If you could I would love to breed my clownfish and have lots of litte nemos. |

| I keep mine as stess relief and just to veg out and watch the fish go about thier business in their own little world. I like my Oscars for the interaction I get with them they see me when I walk in the door and they wagg their tails like little puppies I know the little piggies just want more food but its cool that they acknowledge that I am there and they arent scared when I come up to the tank.

| I got fish because I have this issue with loneliness and either I'm not aloud to get or I have tried all the other possible animals. I am trying to breed some but I have to get to more fish to really get what I want and a tank divider. I'm going to breed my almost black dalmation molly male to a gold female (still have to get) and a gold male molly (have to get) to my two female dalmation mollies. I also have two male swordtails (one piebald and one blue) to some of my females. I will get these babies eventually. I want to breed the piebald male to my blue female and my blue male to my red velvet females. |

| I have them for both. I do enjoy just having them, but it's even more fun to breed them, for one you know they're happy and healthy in your care if they're spawning for you, and you get to se the neatest behaviours when they're breeding and raising young. And as a genetics nerd, breeding Bettas and watching them grow is fascinating. |

| I love showing and breeding. The fish I normally I show is the fish in my 15g! (6 Glowlight tetras, 6 Cherry Barbs & 2 Albino Cories) Basically, any fish that is beautiful such as Arowana, Bettas, Guppies, etc... I'd put them for show. But the only fish I use to breed are Guppies! They're fun to breed! |
