| 1968 a metal framed 10 gal with Guppies. Of course I NEEDED a snail. Never got rid of them until mid 70's when I finally gave away my last tank. Guppies and snails go on forever. |

| My very first fish was a guppy when I was like 10 or around that age. I wasn't really good with fish and I over feed him. So sad |

| my first fish were two orange guppies. one died 3 days later. we think he was sick when we brought him home. from the beginning he never ate and was always attacking the other guppy. even in the end he still attacked the other one even though his mouth was stuck open. it was gross.

| Wow Goldie was a popular goldfish name, lol My first fish was also a goldfish named Goldie, (was also my great grammas name) I got her him it.....at the local fair after throwing ping pong balls till my arms hurt when I was 5. Goldie lived in a 5 gallon tank alone for 2 years until I guess she finally got bored jumped out and i found her dead on the floor when my mom picked me up from my grammas house after she babysat me. She was my first pet and I was so devastated I said Id never own another fish. Ummmmm I think I got over the devastation because now 26 years later I have 3 tanks and quite an assortment. |

| Well....my tank started with 4 guppies, 2 angelfish and a pleco. One month later I was left with 3 guppies and 1 angelfish. After a battle with camallanus worms, I'm now left with 2 guppies and my angelfish but they are all from my first batch. |

| My dad had fish when I was younger. But my first fishs(I've never had just one) were a goldfish and a betta. I loved them so much. The goldfish always came up and would bite peoples fingers. |

| My first fish were two goldfish, got them before my 10 gallon was set up so they stayed in a large tupperware bowl on my coffeetable, amazingly they did very well and lived for along time after that, despite going through the cycling of the new tank. Poor fish. |

| When I was really young, my uncle bought me a tank, no idea how big it was... and I remember having neon tetras... and others.. but its all a blur
but the one fish I'll never forget, his name was fred...
He was small, red and black and brown i think? He looked like he had patches of color on him... Now that I'm much older, and have fish of my own, I think he might have been a platy... but I'll never know.. I wish I could get another fish like him, I remember he lived the longest too! |

| Technically my first fish was one of three feeder fish we gave my turtle, he ate 2 and we had a new goldfish.
My first fish bought to be a pet was a quartet of angels for a 55 when i was young.
Many years went by and I decided I wanted to get back into fish and got a betta. |

| I grew up with Oscars, but my first fish was a Betta named Neon (he was red and blue and green <3). Surpisingly, I didnt have a goldfish untill I was about 15, and he didnt last too long (I tried to save him from the school fair, but it went terribly wrong when I went on vacation for a few days......) |

| Platys for me. They are hardy and colorful and [mostly] peaceful. I've got one that likes to bully one of the others, but not the other two. When I get my quarantine tank up, I think I'll give him a time out... |

| Goldfish when I was a kid - my step father brought back a ton of them from the university one year. There were about 50 of the poor little things in a huge bowl with a bunch of some kind of floating plant. Every morning for about three weeks the morning routine was get up, check the goldfish, scoop out the dead goldfish, feed the remaining goldfish.
Then they were all dead. |
