| Per fish, it is probably in the 20-30$ range.
We recently had some F1 L333 shipped in that cost almost 300$ for the lot.
I regularly spend 200-300$ at auctions. |

| Hard for me to believe, but my beautiful platinum butterfly koi, Miyamoto, was only 3.99. He was in the "small koi" tank at Petsmart, and I snatched him up. |

just think if you lose it, youre out 20 bucks
if they breed successfully i could see
one mollie had over 30 fry that reached adulthood goin for three bucks each, thats a profit in my opinion |

| Yes but it depends if your trying to make a profit or you keep fish for entertainment/amusement/calming effect etc. cause some of the more expensive fish have way more personality than mollies and platies.

| well i have a smaller tank so the larger fish are the more expensive ones
i stick with the cheaper ones because then i have more variety in the tank
i think its fun to breed livebearers because of the color variations the fry can be
as for more expensive fish having a better personality gouramis discus and angels are some of the more expensive ones that i know of but they dont seem to do anything they do have some different colors but they just arent active |

| I think the most I have spent one fish is $20 and that was for a L52 pleco. I got 3 of them at the time. After that, the most was $14 for a galaxy rasbora.

| We probably have close to 10,000$ in fish in the fishhouse.
To get to that point, we spent close to 2,000$. |

| Most I paid for fish were for my 7 Discus, and they were 25.00 each.
Yes, you worry about those expensive fish for sure.. but when you love a certain kind of fish, and it does cost more sometimes you just got to do it!!

| We've paid $80 buck for a wc caribe piranha which was 10" big.
2 of our fancy plecos were $40 each at 1" big The blue panque and the blue phantom. We got those plecos a year ago.
I also paid $30 for an angelfish at a LFS...only to have it die when I couldn't get my money back. (won't be doing that again) Datnoids at 1" are $30 each but if you buy them in quantity they are cheaper.
Most african cichlids are at least $12 and range to $50 at our lfs. Last edited by Allie; October 14th, 2007 at 12:07 PM.

| If we're talking about price per 1 fish, then the most is $15 that I paid for my Gold Pearly Veiltail Angelfish, even though it was still quite small! I paid half the price that same day for my Blue Blushing Angel of the same size. But I don't regret one penny spent on any of my fish, ever |

Oh yeah we bought 2 baby arrowana at $60 each. One was murdered by a 2" baby oscar. I was not impressed.
I just realized I don't buy really expensive fish...my boyfriend does.
$30 is the most I have spent. |

| The most I've spent was like 10 dollars (that's about how much mollies cost over here, but am not bothering with an exact exchagne rate, so that's a really rough and ready figure).
Husband bought his fancy pleco for about 50 dollars. Men are such fish-snobs, LOL. |

the most ive paid is three bucks for a mollie and sword | It's all a matter of choice. For example, if someone chooses to start a marine tank, they are going to be paying over $20 for most of their fish.
If someone chooses to raise show koi, they're going to be paying hundreds, or even thousands of dollars per fish. |

| put if you just like to watch fish swim around in a tank at your home...the most i would pay would be around $50...and that would have to be a very healthy fish |

| One of Sting's (the singer) coy cost him 1 million euros!
My parents are getting coys (I fear the worst for the poor fish, but that's another story). You can get the smaller ones for the price of discus (about 50 dollars). Quote:
