I like all fish but my oscar has a lot of personality.
I also like my rope eel (Fish) alot but she is very shy and peacefull.
I don't have any but Discus are beautifull.

1 Oscar
1 Rainbow shark
2 Albino cory cats (they are crazy)
2 Plecos
2 Gouramis
1 Rope Fish
1 Marble Angle
P.S. I just got a used 55 gallon it was nasty but I got her clean and Oscar is getting a new home with 1 pleco maybe set up this weekend

As for today... Tiguer Oscars. I just got one (or was it the other way around?) while looking for possible stocking options for my new 145gal (at the time I thought it was 160 but I double checked dimensions). He/she is at the LFS, I never before went on daily basis to share some time (20 minutes) with a fish I would pay for and left at the LFS until my tank is cycled. Can't tell in words, but it's like he/she already knows that I will be taking him/her home, uncanny, but in a good way.
Prior to that, a Pearl Gourami named "Gura" that lived for eons. When she died I quitted fishkeeping at age 23 -shorlty after my female cat killed everyone but her.
She lived in a pond with goldfish for most of her life. Almost nine years there -I know their reported lifetime is shorter but..., she spawned a few times before the goldfish arrived, and outlived everyone.
I got her as a baby, lived in a 20gal for less than a year and went into the pond. She used to eat from my fingers (I remember she liked oat and mosquito larvaes more than flakes!)

I vote bettas, what beautiful little creatures, with BIG personalities, hehe.
Oscars have a special place in my heart... I had never been acquainted with one until about a month and a half ago, someone had brought one in to the pet store I shop at and left him there to be adopted (didn't want to care for him any more). He swam right up to me when he saw me first and showed more interest in what I was doing than anything else. He kept turning his head to get a better look at my face.... the intelligence he seemed to possess made me melt over him. He had scratched himself up really bad against the sides of the tank because of stress. I came back to visit him every couple of days until he was adopted... would have taken that gorgeous puppy of a fish home in a heartbeat if I'd had the right tank for him. I was told that he now lives happily in a 175 gallon with an experienced Oscar-keeper... so happy for him!
