Just wondering what type of lighting people have for their tank. I suppose it also depends on live plants versus fake plants. What do people recommend?

cos i'm a cheap skate mine are just what came with the tank!! i also dont know anything about lights, so i dont know any dif!! my fish and plants seem to be doing well.......

I use Power Compact fluorescent with actinic blue and regular white, for my marine. I just have one 4ft fluorescent on my 150 freshwater.

we have incandescent in our tanks but are switching to fluorescent.

I've got red a fluorescent in my tank.
Hoping to get a blue for my 8gal.

I have power compact fluorescent with blue 03 and 10000º. Unfortunately, this is on a freshwater. The light came with the 50/50 bulb, and I'm going to replace the bulbs with one 10000º/6700º 50/50 and one Colormax/10000º from Coralife.

I chose "Fluorescent" but I have "Fluorescent" and "Compact Fluorescent". They're basically the same, only the compacts are much more intense lights, and higher in wattage.
