ever had a healthy fish die for no apparent reason?
had a healthy leopard danio die yesterday and i'm most puzzled. there was absolutely nothing wrong with him. even his dead body gave no clues. the only issue in that tank is the h&t tetras with fin rot, but the danios fins were immaculate. he looked perfect and he was only a few months old, so cant be old age. for the hardiest fish in there it was rather a shock!! anyway, is this something that happens to all fishkeepers over time (mystery death of healthy fish), or just me?! - i'm not having much luck at the moment. i'm putting alot of effort into these fish and they just die . very frustrating and disappointing. anyway, hopefully thats it now, i'll start having a few births and less deaths now . at least there's some reasoning when a sick fish dies, but mine was absolutely fine. thats why i was so shocked .
let me know your thoughts. does this happen to everyone?

I had a Serpae die for no apparant reason. There was a school of 7 of them...all healthy and acting normally, tank cycled. One day I come home from work and one is dead on his side on the gravel. No behavioral clues, no indications of bullying on the body, no problems with the survivors. Most odd.

wierd isnt it! thats exactly what happened with my danio. the other 4 in the school are fine. my tank is cycled, levels all perfect. when other fish have died either they were brand new and/or their bodies have been affected beforehand and their behaviour is usually clue...inactivity/staying nr surface or staying nr gravel, so you kinda half expect it, but this danio just dropped dead out of the blue. i still cant believe it!
reassuring to know its not just me its happened to. i guess we'll never know why, but at least it seems they didnt suffer which can only be a good thing.

My tiger barb Scooter died completely out of the blue. He'd been acting fine...was eating and playfully swimming around before I left for work. When I came home, he was dead.

The ones I've had that died did for a reason, they were sick, but no healthy ones died. I did have a ghost shrimp die for no apparent reason, though, but no fish

not sure i'd know if my shrimps were ill to be honest! i thought one was dead for a couple of weeks as it vanished, only to come strolling along!! mine spend that much time hiding i hardly see them! see them briefly at lights out, but thats it! - another reason to get some more, so it increases my chances of seeing them!!!!

I had one that hid for a while, too. Didn't know where it was and then one day I saw it again. I guess they like to hide out. They were probably molting and didn't want to be picked on.
