I've had goldfish on and off since I was a kid......but have only had tropicals since Dec.

| 32 years, almost always had at least one tank going.
When my kids were small the was a period of about five years that i didn't. I had three kids in less than three years- twins then one more- it was all I could do to keep babies fed and laundry done.
Now, the kids are all teenagers. I've got my 85, and the twins each have a 10. As soon as they go away to college(September!) I get a fish room.

Julie | my word....you must be the longest slave to fish on here!!!! thats more than my age, and i was feeling old (got my 30th fast approaching!). i have 3 kids under the age of 6 (one is a few wks old!), so although not as much hard work as you had , i had to go from 4 tanks to 2, but hope to get a huge tank one day when i have more spare time and get the kids a tank each in their rooms. MTS will def take over your life when the kids move on to college! |

| Thanks tan.b. Way to make a person feel old! (just kidding).
I'm making plans for the fish room already. One huge tank to move my clown loaches and bala sharks in to, several varying sized smaller tanks, and a big comfy chair to sit back and enjoy them all in. I plan on replacing the window with a door to the backyard, so I can do water changes straight on to the lawn.
Fortunately, my brother is a contractor and can build the stands and put in the door for me.
The 85 will stay in the dining room, and will be home to Congo tetras and and an elephant nose.

If you doubled the ammount of life I've had it still wouldn't be as long as you've been fishkeeping! Well done my friend. I've been doing it for 1 year on April the 21st... Hmm, now lets start planning the party. I'm amazed I still have 1 of my guppys. He survived dreadful overstocking, uncycled tank andhalf his tail being ripped of by a female betta! (Na-tee; poor little girl is long gone now) Wait - where on earth is he?! |
