aww, no-one's replied.
plecos do seem to change colour on their mood anyway, so is it different to what you've seen him before? mine go realy pale like the gravel sometimes, and when on their log they go really dark.
to be on the safe side i'd use melafix. i've used it with my pleco in the tank (treating his tank mates) and it did no harm to him. melafix is a good all rounder! is he still eating? good luck, and sorry i wasnt much help, but couldnt leave your thread unanswered!
