Hi everyone. My boyfriend found a great pleco in the fish store, but we forgot to ask/note the name. It had the Loricariidae body shame, brown with white spots. The tip of its caudal and dorsal fins were white (just the point, not the whole edge), thus forming a white triangle at the tip. We checked a few sites, including PlanetCatfish, but so far no luck. Any suggestions (aside from going back to the pet store!).
Oh, and it didn't have huge bristles, none at all as far as I remember, actually. I read female BN's iddn't have such obvious bristles, so in theory, could still be a BN. But again, the white tip. Was really striking.
Interesting i have the same pleco i bought 2 yesterday and at at the fish store i bought if from is said Bristlenose Pleco gets to be about 4.5 inches. I am assuming that is what i have.
That's him, that's him, that's him, that's him, that's him! Thank you!!!! OK, so this one is just an ancistrus, then? I never see the white tip on any other ancistrus.
Mmmmh, the plot thickens. I wonder what all our pleco experts are doing? ID help needed here! Hey, I've got an idea, could you maybe post that picture in the ID help section of the fresh water part of this forum? That should get us some responses.
