hmm I'll try, I might have one actually but my camera isn't very good. I'm saving up for a better one now, going to make a topic about one now since I can't find many reivews on it, it will be in the other section.
Actually, I've now noticed that some plecos whose tail ends in a white stripe start off as juveniles with only the two tips of the tail white. So I think ours was just a golden nugget, and I wouldn't be surprised if yours developed the stripe as he grows.
O sorry forgot about this topic. I'll take one today or tomorow unless something comes up, I"m wanting to get an ID of something in my SW tank so it won't be hard to get a pic of my pleco with the white tip. he definately isn't a gold nugget, he's well over a year old and still 4-5" with bristles
Ya mine has shrunk as it has gotten younger. Still working on a pic, was going to take one yesterday, he was in a perfect postion but as soon as I got there to the wall he swam to the bottom wall and I couldn't get a good pic still trying
Gawd, I know what you mean about trying to take pix of shy plecos. My man bought one 3 weeks ago (I forget the species) and we're lucky to catch a glimpse of his tail once in a while.
I see mine all the time, the problem is being in a spot were his white tip shows up and staying their long enough. It's really gone away as he got older and it's most visible when they spread their fins, then it's just gorgeous.
Most of the time the little white area are more observable on juvie Bristlenose
First pic is a juvenile goldspot bristlenose
second is juvenilelong fin sp 3
third is adult with out white markings

Yep, that's what I reckon (that the white line is a juvenile trait, which will become tips). Here's a picture of our pleco. His tail used to be completely pinkish, and now it is increasinly eaten away by his normal colour.
