hello all, i have a bristlenose pleco in my 56 gallon with my angelfish two of my angelfish spawned and as to be expected lights out he was on the eggs. im not sad about the eggs, but i am worried if its ok if he eats something like that. i know bn are primarily veggie eaters but is that not good for him to eat?

The eggs won't hurt him, he needs a little protein. The ratio for pleco is generally 90% veggies/10% protein unless conditioning for breeding then it's 80% veggies and 20% protein.

get him some blood worm pellets that should help towards his protein. you can also buy other foods aswell there are special tablet like foods just for plecs/catfish that provide a sourse of veggie and protein. you can also feed them cucumber, mellon, mango, and dont forget to have some drift wood in the tank as they need it to help their digestion

you will love ur bn they have such great personalities.... just remember to get them some bogwood and to vary their diet to stop the tanins leaching out of the bogwood boil it for a few hours with lots of water changes of the boiling water
