ok I thought I would give a update on the egg situation
when they laied the first batch of eggs as u know most of them had turned white after 5 days well this time non of the eggs have turned white
they still havent hatched but I can see the fish forming.
As you know there was a problem with the dad looking after them, all week the eggs have been moved around the tankuntill it got to the point where i wasnt sure where they would end up next and even tho i wasnt sure who was moveing them the dad showed no interest in guarding them at all.
Well that seems to have changed tonight as the dad has dug anouther cave only this time under the bogwood and he seems to be looking after them tho for some reason he does seem to move them around sometime half out the one side or the other but at least he is there guarding them

maybe he doesnt feel that threatened by the other fish in there so wasnt too worried about guarding them!

My male bn doesnt chase off the cherry barbs but he goes nuts at the clown loaches etc.

Keep us updated and thats a lovely tank!!

I was inspecting the eggs today and i could see their eyes had formed so i was getting kinda excited that there may be hatchlings in the next day or so. so just now i was feeding my fish and the dad was just sat there so i looked closer and i could see something wiggleing along the roof of the cave and leaneing right up to the tank ( nose pressed against the glass) i could see that the eggs were no longer clustered together and that they had seperated and seemed to be stuck along the roof of the cave with wiggleing tails!!!!!!!

How wonderful Aldric! I think we're all excited for you and wishing you the best. Great photos and beautiful fish.
If Dad is moving the eggs around then he is doing it for a reason. By all means keep us posted.
Have fun and enjoy the process.

Soooooooooo cute. I'm so excited I can't wait now for mine to start breeding. How does the dad move them? Does he pick them up in his mouth?
