If you have 3 BN's I don't think you would need another.
You sure it was a zebra pleco you had....those sucker go for $1000 around here.

I don't know......
I have looked at about 200 photos at planetcatfish so far trying to figure it out.... I should be in bed but now I have to know.
Hopefully someone who knows about plecos comes along soon and helps me out here...lol

Hi,

Your pleco was very beautiful.

I think he may have been a tiger pleco. Check out the 5th & 6th picture down. http://aqualandpetsplus.com/Catfish,...nsive%20IV.htm
The pet store may have thought it was a brown zebra, but the stripe behind the head makes it look a lot like a tiger. I'm not sure at all, but that would make sense why they called it a zebra.

(Also, I don't know anything about how big they get or their requirements, but I'm sure someone here will be able to give you some guidance.)

Aldric,
Go to www.planetcatfish.com and find your pleco.
They are the experts.

Common names are very confusing as you can see. True zebra Plecos (L46) are black and white.
Looks a lot like L333 to me http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog...pecies_id=1024

WOW!!!!! How did you get your hands on a Zebra pleco!!!?? I don't see any at the pet stores close to me. I only a see a few in the Amazon River, but Zebra plecos are very very rare now a days, and the government banned people from getting the Zebra plecos. The only thing is, it's only in Brazil so I don't know if people pick them here.

Although I've only seen a few zebra plecos here. Also when I was in Peru 25 years ago, there were tons of zebra plecos. They have been surviving very well here, but now people think they are very beautiful to keep and the breeders usually take the plecos from the wild and try to breed them in captivity.

The only plecos I do see now are the common pleco, the vampire pleco, and many other species of plecos. I don't see many zebra plecos. There are a few that swam into my pond though. Although they probably would be spawning soon. They spawn in the wet/raining season aka winter. Since all of the fishes have more to eat.

I hope you can post a video of your zebra pleco
