Handling a pleco

Hi,

I'm going to move my tank from my desk to an aquarium stand I made and I'm wondering, how to hold my BN pleco properly?

I hold mine in the palm of my hand (bottom of fish on my palm) and keep my other hand over the (caudal fin) tail section of the body - not forcefully just enough so that if they get excited

Why do you want to hold it? I suggest moving it from one tank to another via a large bowl or a plastic container like the fish store uses that hangs on the side of the tank. Every time you touch your fish you're removing precious body slime. If you do have to handle it make sure to add some Nova Aqua or some conditioner that will add the slime back to it's body into the tank once it's moved.
Hope you can send some pictures our way once the move is complete.

Ok,

I will try to catch it with a bowl. I didn't know that if i touch a fish, I'm removing the slime on their body. If i couldn't catch it with a bowl I'll catch it with a cup

If you do end up having to handle it, don't be surprised if the Pleco makes some noise. I think a couple of members have experienced it.
Have fun!

Sometimes it's like they can grunt...it's very odd.
