The LFS just said "Bristlenose" - Is there any specific type or can anyone tell me if its a male or female?

Thanks!

If the bristles are across the nose as well as up between the eyes it is a male. Some females have bristles around the top lip, some don't have bristles at all.
Looks kind of like a male to me.
It looks like Ancistrus sp3. bristlenose is the common name for ancistrus species.

Well it might too soon to tell (only ~3") But it has two big "horns" in the middle of its nose (you can see them in the pic) almost like a rhinoceros!

Oh - I was talking about the 2 longer bristles on the tip of his nose - not the "nostril" things - those 2 big bristles are perpendicular to his eyes (its hard to tell from the photo) - those are the only bristles going up his nose towards his eyes.

I'm just trying to decide if those are enough to say it is a male!
