| i have 2 pieces of zucchini at a time, i use a spoon for the side of the tank where it's to dense to get my hand through so i just stab the zucchini and let it sink. the other piece is attached the plastic knife and i stab it into gravel or rocks. i have 2 pieces of zucchini, one to distract my clown loach, and the other for my albino and my common BN. yeah, i know how wierd, my clown eats it before my BN's get to taste it.
my BN's aren't that nocturnal, partially because i have no light, also, when did you get your BN? and what other fish do you have in the tank?
BN's like a pH of 6.5 - 7, a pH of 7.6 isn't good enough. |

| leave it in no longer than 24 hours or it will pollute the tank. |

| my plecos usually dont have an appetite for the cucumber until its been in there for over 24hrs. i generally leave my pieces in the tank until there is nothing but the tough, dark green skin left. which is probably after about 48hrs. |

| I have 1 Bristle nose (Male) 6 Neon Tetras 2 Rgb's and I had a flame dwarf gourami (Male) but he kept attacking the Rgb's very aggressively so I returned him today.....you should have seen him at the fish store they were accumulating him to the gourami tank so he was in a plastic bag and all the gourami's crowded around to see whats going on and my dwarf gourami was trying to attack all of them!! threw the plastic bag the moment he got in.......so I returned him and got a Blue Gourami and a Balloon Molly I wasn't planning on getting those exact one's but I ended up getting them......I know I might be overstocked but I can handle it my main worry is the health of the fishes I always keep the water safe and the tank peaceful I've had to return so many fishes to keep peace even when I do research and they say they'll get along fine but end up not getting along I have to do something about it. The employee at the store told me the gourami was beautiful he was constantly asking me what it was that i fed him and said he's in real good shape and his color is popping (or something like that) So if the load of the fishes gets to much to handle i will take some fish out but I'll be able to handle it. So all together (I'm not adding anymore more fish or taking out) I have:
1 Bristle nose Pleco
1 Blue Gourami
1 Balloon Molly
2 German Blue Rams
6 Neon Tetras

| 1 BN - 4"
1 blue gourami - 4"
1 balloon molly - 3"
2 german blue rams - 4"
6 neon tetras - 6"
total of 21"
i reckon 1 inch over isn't gonna kill anyone, i reckon the inch method can go 10% over. eg. 10% of 20 gallons would be 2", so you could have 22 inches of fish.
what is the gender of your balloon molly? |

| did you get it at a pet shop where males and females are together? or separate? there is a very big chance she is pregnant, so watch out. don't worry looking after fry is fun! |

| Um I didn't really pay attention but the only Balloon Mollies that were there were only in that one tank so yea she probably was together with male mollies. |

| lucky you, my LPS has them in separate tanks, so when i breed them i have to buy a male and a female, you could just buy a female and tada, you have fry. |

| there should be a gravid spot big dark black spot just in front of the analfin when it gets really dark she should be nearly ready to drop.
some advice balloon mollies can have up to 100 fry easily.
depending on the size of the fish though most balloon mollies will have around that size of batch but depends on how long she was with males? |

what is the gender of your balloon molly? | Actually BN get closer to 6 inches and are heavy waste producers. So the inch per gallon doesn't work there The inch per gallon is only a guideline not a hard and fast rule. You have to figure their body mass and how messy they are when you stock.
Low95Chevy-German Blue rams are very sensitive to water conditions.
With proper care(substrate vacuums & at least 25% water change per week) the tank should be fine.
It sounds like it is very pretty . Do you have any pics?

| I'm going to take some pictures of it today and I'll post them up my decoration is a little off though when i had the aggressive dwarf gourami i took him out put him in a bucket for a while and moved the decorations around a bit to try to throw him off but didn't work though but with the new decoration style it left a lot of space in the middle which i want to put some kind of bog wood there so when i have the pics I'll make a new thread and let you guys know. Also i do 30% water changes a week so I think I'll be good Thanks for the advice and thanks cichlidsmad for letting me know that i cant really see if she's pregnant right now cause the lights are off but I'll take a look at it later on.....Also the BN is being very active tonight! he's swimming around from wall to wall trying to find some algae (which i don't have any unless there's some i cant see) but the cucumber is still there untouched. |

| Some times it takes a couple of times for them to realize this really food If he doesn't eat it take it out and put another piece in. He will learn to eat it and once they start they don't stop LOL Keep up the good work !

| Thanks! and he hasn't ate the cucumber yet so i will be taking it out soon and replacing it maybe tonight when the lights go off to let him know that's for him and if that still doesn't work i think I'm going to go get some algae wafers or something and stuff them in the cucumber maybe it will attract him quicker. Once again thanks for all the help everyone....YAAAYYY MY 100 POST!!!! |

| i have to BN's. an albino who is 1.9" and doesn't touch the zucchini or the cucumber, but my common BN who is 1.7" sits there guarding. my goldfish and my clown loach also have a go at it, they pretty much destroy it. |
