Re: Butterfly help

I feed mine zichinni, some feed cucumber. Either one, make sure their small so the seeds are small and theres more veggie for them to eat. Also it has to be weighted down some how. If you slice it you can put it on a rock with a rubberband. If you cut it long ways you can stick a fork or spoon handle up through it. OR buy one of the special clips for veggies

Re: Butterfly help

I have a cucumber and I'm going to make a circle piece and stick a spoon through it to weigh it down and get a veggie clip later but should I wrap the cucumber in plastic wrap or how should I perserve it after I cut a slice off?

Thanks

Austin

Re: Butterfly help

Just wrap it in plastic wrap or drop it in a sandwich bag. Let us know how it likes the cucumber

Re: Butterfly help

Well he tryed it but looked like he couldn't eat it so I think I"m going to try blanching it in the microwave and see how that works if he doesn't eat it over night.

Re: Butterfly help

He demolished it last night, ate everything but the skin and keeps going there. Should I feed him some everyday?

Re: Butterfly help

a piece every other day would be good. Watch your water parameters, they can make a mess after eating veggies

Re: Butterfly help

You sure I can't feed him everyday as he's constantly on it trying to eat whatever's left.

Re: Butterfly help

You can feed him everyday if you want to but he will get used to being fed and not eat any algae if you should get some. Like most fish he will eat all the time if it's available.
