breeding bn in a 20 gal?

ive got a bn that is almost a year old now but i was thinking about adding another into my 20 gal. ive got a male now iw as hoping to put another in and trying to breed them and put im another bn and hoping to get a girl or grow the possible male till he shows bristles. any ideas on the subject? i was going to get them from the same LFS and talking to them about the breed and who they get them from.

thanks,

tom

a 20 gallon long works great for breeding Bristlenose plecos. Since yours is already breeding age I would try to find a female around the same size. Males can be very territorial and if you get a small BN pleco and it ends up being a male he could get himself in lots of trouble with the older bigger male.

Adding another BN after that one having the tank to himself for so long could cause problems even if it is a female.what I personally would do is take the BN in there out, rearrange the tank decor a little(you don't have to tear the tank apart) and add them both at the same time. Just some thoughts.

or add the female first so when he goes back in shes already there just like the new decor.
