36 Gal: Pleco as an algae eater

I've started to get some algae in my tank and I wanted to see if Pleco's are the best bet to clean it up. I know they get large, and I only have a 36 gallon tank to work with so I think my options are limited. I already have one otto cat, so I was considering either getting more of those or getting one smaller pleco, any advise?

Commons get too large for your tank, as you already know. However, there are smaller ones that you could choose from such as the Bristle Nose Catfish
Check this out site for other options:

Otos like to be in groups, why not add a few more, they're awefully cute.

Yes the smaller ones are a gorgeous addition to a community tank. I seen that the pepppermint, stary night, gold nugget, bristlenose all stay small 4-6" . There could be others as well. Anyone with different ones ?

i think adding a few more otos would be your best choice at this point as lucy said they prefer to be in groups so adding at least two more would be great
