Clown Pleco or Bristlenose Pleco?

Hey everyone I was wondering which fish you recommend for my tank, it has driftwood in it and I dont want this fish as a algea cleaner(since I dont have any algea right now) but as a fish with personality and appearance. Which fish do you recommend bristlenose pleco or clown pleco and why?

I have a clown, he's beautiful - but you don't see him much.

I have 2 bristlenoses, which I love, they look great, and they're always active, but they also need lots of algae, so I may go with the clown pleco if I were you...

Our plecos are albino lfbn plecos and we love them! Pretty active for plecos during the day and real beauties.

I agree with CoBetta. I have an albino long fin BN, and I also debated on which of the two I would get. I was sold when most of the experts said that the clown prefers driftwood, and that they never see theirs. I wanted one that would eat algae in my tank, and one that I would see. I don't have any algae because he is so good, so I supplement with cucumber, algae wafers, and zuchini. They are beautiful, and full of personality. Hope that helps!

I have a clown pleco. He is very cute! I was overjoyed the day i found out that there were plecos small enough to fit in my tank. We were lured in with the most excellent advice from our local big box fish store of "Well you gotta have a pleco" and ended up buying a common pleco. I was doing some reasearch about him online and i went, "This fish gets HOW big??" and had to give him up to one of my friends with a much larger tank.

The unfortunate thing is that hands down, my pleco is my most favourite fish and i don't see him that often. I've got a nice piece of driftwood in there for him to snack on and he keeps the algae at an almost unnoticable level in the tank.

Its adorable if i've been sitting still watching TV for half an hour or so in the evening i see him come out and swim around. As soon as he sees me look at him he freezes up and pretends he is gravel. So i've named him Gravel.
