My Pleco got stuck inside the "rock-cave" last week. He was bent in half and struggling. He has a large scrape that looks like it is shedding and the tank is starting to smell. The biggest concern is that now he has this continuous white string-like think coming out of his underbelly or bowel area?? He has never had this before. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong with him and what I can do? Also, will his scrape heal by itself?

First thing if you suspect a problem a water change is always a good idea. Since your tank has a smell a large water change say about 50%. With good clean water his scrape will heal. keep an eye out for infection(redness, fuzzy etc) Now let me ask a couple of questions so we can better help your pleco.
How long has your tank been set up? what size is your tank? What kind of smell is it? How big is your pleco and what else is in the tank with him.
