Rubber Lip Pleco.

My LFS got these guys in, I was wondering if anyone knew stuff about them. I cant find any good information on line, but I might just be googling the wrong thing. Anyway-
How big do they get?
Are they good for a 20 gallon tank with 5 cories and 2 honey gouramis (fully cycled)?
Do they actually eat algae, because I know some don't?
Are they super shy and nocturnal, or do they come out during the day?

Any one with experience or a good link would be helpful. Thank you!

Cool, thanks. Depending on the cost, I just might get one!

Mine is about 4" & pretty shy. It's hollowed out a spot under a lava rock & prett much hangs out there most of the time. When I do see it, it sucking it's way across the tank sides & "rock" decoration but I still use algea wafers.

I have a rubber lip pleco. I think this is the one you mean... I attached a pic of mine.
I'm pretty sure the scientific name is Chaestosma thomasi (sp?)
Mine is great at cleaning up algae, but he's very very shy. I love him to bits though, such a cute and fun guy.

Yup, PFP, that looks like the ones they had. Theirs aren't green though more gray. Did yours color up a bit when you brought him home?

Yeah, he changes color quite a bit actually. Last time I saw him he was more of a blond-ish color.
