i want 2 get a pleco and i was wondering if any1 could give me some ideas for plecos around.... say... 4 inches?

P.S. this is also 4 ppl who want a pleco in his/her own tank soooo post away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

Well, you can get a bristle nose pleco. They only grow to only 5 inches.

The problem with having any sort of Pleco in a 10gal isn't the size but the amount of waste they produce. You might be ok with a bristlenose, but it wouldn't leave room for much else.

I agree with Nick. A single bristlenose might do okay, but that alone would be pushing the bioload for such a small tank.

One bristlenose in a 10 gallon, max. Any other fish will make the ammonia go nuts, that alone might do it. I also don't know if a 10 could get enough algae for the little guy, you'd definitely need some wafers on hand.

In my opinion Plecos and 10 gallon tanks just don't mix. To bad I have several 10 gallons that I would love to stick some plecos in..Have you looked at corys or ottos. They are both bottom dwellers but much smaller and really fun to have.

A Bristlenose only gets 5 in. These people are just trying to help, they're all very experienced. Honestly, as much as you want a pleco, it really isn't a good idea with only a 10 gal. tank. Maybe if you get a larger tank someday it would be okay. But not in a 10 gal., you have to think about how the life of the fish will be.
