Problem with my bristlenose

i ordered one online and had him shipped overnight. he seemed stressed but healthy when i got him. brought him home and acclimated him slowly to my tank and releeased last night.

he seemed happy and was eating algae this morning before work. when i got home he was on the front glass. he tries latching on to the glass and falls off. he either falls on his side or on his back upside down and just lays there for a few moments. he then very comes out of it and swims in a very jerky motion and comes to rest and does it again. he's been doing it for a half hour and i'm afraid he is in trouble.

my tank is established and cycled. it is fully planted and was replanted last night with a 50% water change. ammonia and nitrite is 0. nitrates 10ish. iv'e been using dry ferts mixed in solution and adding to my tank with 4/ml excel flourish every day. i did loose a crystal shrimp last night and two of my danios have been lethargic the past week or so. pH is 7.8. as far as i can tell everything in tank is ok although i suspect i might have an ammonium buildup. i would think however if i did the mass of plants i planted yesterday would have cleaned that up. almost all are very fast growing types.

not sure if his behavior is normal. i cant imagine it is. to be safe i just added 10ml aquasafe and did not add any excel tonight.

any suspiscions what might be wrong with him if anything? just a possible sick pleco from start? maybe normal?

defintly not normal!
was the temp quite difrent? i found that when i transfered my bn from my 25g to my 85g that he acted weird but i think it was because there was a 4 C degree difrence? not to sure

thanks. come to think of it the water temp did seem alot different. maybe atleast a 4c or more difference. the thing that puzzles me is that he lived a good 24 hours before he finally died...not long after i posted this topic last night. could temperature shock take that long to cause his death? i cant think of anything else.

my ammonia checks out at 0ppm after retesting it last night. the only other suspicious thing that happened before he died was that i turned on my aquarium lights when i got home. it was dark in my appartment when i did. maybe stress/shock? i'm grasping for straws here.

i guess multiple things could have contributed to his death( sorry to hear that he died ) but temp change defintly afected mine. so i guess temp change, the trip and shock could have been a little to much for him.
