Problem with Pleco

hi ,

lately i've noticed my Pleco getting a white patch on its body. Over the past few days it has become lighter in colour. I don't think its fungus, but i'm not sure. Sort of looks like it's shedding its skin.

Still acts normal, and doesnt seem to be any different. Just not sure what this is.
Water is ok, changed 30% 6 days ago. No other fish in the tank are displaying this. Also has fry in a breeder net in the tank and there fine, so i do not think its the water,
Thank-you for any help. i'l c if i can post a pic, only new to this forum, so still looking round.

What kind of pleco is this?

What are your water params (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)?

How many fish do you have in total. This is a small tank, and plecos are quite sensitive to any toxins in the water.

Hi ,
My ammonia level is 0. Sorry i don't have a nitrate or nitrite test. I'll be getting one soon.
It was sold to me as a common pleco, but i'm not really sure.
There are 9 fish in total in the tank. as well as 12, one week old fry.
I posted some pics of the pleco in my albums.
Thanks for your help

If you have a common pleco, they need about 75g, or nearly 300 litres.

Well at the monent the pleco is only about 5cm long. I'll be getting a bigger tank soon, but i don't think i have the room for a 300l tank. Nor would my dad let me get anything so big, lol. I fed him some cucumber yesterday. Today he's looking better. The white patch is not really there anymore. Seems happy and acting normal. Thanks all, for your help. I think when he gets to big, i'll sell him back to the petshop.

hmm ,yeah just thought i'd update,
My pleco still going strong.
skin changes sota like he's camoflageing with the light gravel, then 10min later he's back to normal. So don't know why, but doesn't seem to bother him.
