bristle nose

1how big are they when sexualy mature
2how long will it take to go from fry to that size
3is it easy
4im neew to fish keeping and loveem y little bristle nose i kindaa wanna breed it just seeing if i could

i was wondering
1what size is it when a bn cat fish reaches sexualy maturity
2 about how long will it take a 5 cm one to reach that size
3what male to female ratio should i have for them to breed
4 finaly could a novice breed them

This thread should help, there are links to some really good articles on breeding bristlenose and caring for the fry, as well as a couple of first-hand-experience posts describing their breeding behaviors.

But to answer your questions...

1. I don't know
2. Hard to say, there's too many factors involved
3. 1 male, 1-2 females
4. Yes

Our regular bns were almost full sized when ready to breed. We put them in tank together and they bred within days. It takes a year or so to be full grown. Our last 2 babies are 2-2.5" big and our bns bred back in February.
