I never see my clown pleco

I never see my clown pleco.

He's always in the pirate ship and only comes out if I tip the ship over once in a while.

Do you think he comes out when the lights are out? On those once weekly times when I tip the ship to check on him he looks fine and swims fine too.

Just wondering!

Thanks

I've read a lot of things that say clowns are nocturnal, but I've also read several posts here from people saying their clowns are always out and about. It could be that you have one that prefers the dark

However, I would suggest you get some driftwood for the clown if you don't already have some in the tank. They are one of the pleco varieties that appreciates having wood available to eat/rasp on. It might be worth reading the clown pleco profile at PlanetCatfish if you're curious.

i think in general.. most pleco types are nocturnal fish..
but some tend to change their habits over time in aquariums.. possibly dependant on feeding times etc.. i rarely see my clown pleco either.. but he pops out every week or so just to let me know he's ok.. and thats cool for me.. as long as hes happy. same for my other plecos.. such is life ay..

I know where my female clown pleco's hiding spot is soI get to see her all the time.
But she only comes out at night, or if one of the severums or other plecos get in her space. Clown plecos are pretty territorial.
