is this bad or am i over reacting to a previous post?

I read a previous post about fish having worms coming out of the anus....now I have seen fish poop before but this just seemed a little out there. My pleco had a strand coming out of his anus tonight that was at least 20 inches long...it was mostly clear with a few spots in it that looked like feces. enclosed are some pictures. also...can anyone tell me if the patern of light patches on his body is normal i dont remember them when i got him.

The fiberous foods they eat (algae, plant matter, etc) tends to hold the poo together. Kinda like a human whose diet is properly balanced (with fiber and other vitamins and minerals). A healthy human bowel movement should be about the same consistancy as pleco poo. (Not as long. )

Yes that is poop mine have had the same thing some other fish will do that as well. The spots or a change in color seems normal to me as several of my fish including the pleco change colors I think according to their mood, surroundings, stress, etc. I think it is kind of cool myself. everyone needs to express themselves some how.

Yup it sure can.
We had a 16" pleco who left pooh around like kids throwing toilet paper in a tree.

When fishies are sick their poo looks clear with white and very stringy.

yea everyone thinks they are ideal tank cleaners, i mean they eat a ton of junk that grows in your tank for sure, but their bioload is ridiculous
